Performance Engineering provided the structural engineering services for Central Community College’s Health Science Education Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. The 44,000 square foot addition to the existing campus includes state of the art lecture halls, laboratory facilities and nursing simulation labs which are all equipped with the latest technology. The majority of the structural system for the new building consists of steel beams and joists. Long-span steel roof joists are used over the lecture halls and hybrid trusses with parallam wood top chords, steel rod webs and steel rod bottom chords are above the commons area with multiple skylight openings between trusses.
