Structural engineers with Performance Engineering provided structural engineering design on the Heritage Ridge Assisted Living project in Bellevue Nebraska. The apartment style retirement community includes 60 living units, a large kitchen and dining room area, a beauty/barber shop, exercise room, a chapel, and administrative offices. The 116,000 square foot project included two and four-story areas. The lower level of the four-story area consists of single car garage slots giving residence indoor parking with internal access to the living units. The structural system includes cast-in-place concrete walls, steel framing, wood floor and roof trusses, and wood wall framing supported on conventional spread footings. The building encloses large outdoor courtyards for the resident’s use and includes a large entrance lobby with skylights.
