Performance Engineering (PE) provided structural and project management services for the new Omaha Steel Castings facility in Wahoo, Nebraska. The operations consist of pre-fabricated metal buildings with 100, 000 square feet of production, 30,000 square feet of pattern storage, and 8,000 square feet of administrative offices. The molding, melting, and pouring processes began on August 7, 2013. This new facility will have the capacity to have 100 tons of work in progress.
PE provided foundation design and coordination for the pre-engineered building systems and all the processing equipment and the design of the wood framed office building. Structural steel support systems for the processing equipment, and mechanical equipment located both on the interior and exterior of the building were provided including heavy ventilation systems, multiple bridge cranes, foundations for four furnaces and related equipment, monorail systems, and storage tank supports.
