The engineering staff from Performance Engineering provided structural engineering services for a 200,000 square foot, four-story office building for First Data Corporation. This building is part of First Data’s expansion on their Aksarben campus located in Omaha. The structural systems for this building consists of auger cast pile foundations, slab-on-grade, composite steel-framed floor slabs, and steel-braced frames for lateral load resistance. The roof structure design included provisions for the building’s mechanical equipment and enclosures. The structural analysis of this building included a complete floor vibration assessment of the composite floor system.
The project schedule dictated that this project be completed on a design/build basis. The structural building design was completed in phases to allow the contractor to begin construction on the foundations before the remainder of the building design was completed. Teamwork and coordination between the owner, contractor, and design consultants was essential to the successful completion of this project.
